Control room for EUSKOTREN in the Atxuri Train Station (Spain)

RDI has implemented the new Atxuri Train Station control room for EUSKOTREN, the leading transport operator in the Basque Country (Spain), which transports more than 30 million people every year. The control room is destined to manage rail traffic and factors at a functional level have been taken into account, so the Kompas console and specific CXO seating for non-stop operations environments have been incorporated.


The scope of the project includes the control consoles, CXO ergo chairs, a 1x6 video wall with BARCO KVD screens combined with the corresponding structure to integrate it into the control room, and the 4YC VOIP (video over IP) data management platform totally customised for EUSKOTREN so that the management of the entire platform is totally intuitive and dynamic.


The project is already fully operational, and results in 6 work stations fully equipped with the KOMPAS console model, a new control console concept that aims to bring high technological value to 24x7 operating environments by providing maximum added value to the operator. It is a top-of-the-range solution with excellent technical performance, with the organisation of all the technology required in the workstation as the main objective, as well as the optimisation and management of the equipment wiring and the connectivity to the network.

The Kompas consoles in the control centre are equipped with excellent technical performance, having as main objective the organization of all the necessary technology in the operator's workplace, as well as the optimization and management of the structured cabling, while enabling to easily connect the equipment to the power and data networks.

The control Center is equiped with the 4YC solution, based on the codification and decodification of all the video signals by means of a dedicated and exclusive net, having the option to visualize any of the signals of this net directly into the work posts of the control room and over the videowall.


The 4YC platform allows each screen of the operator's workstation to be subdivided into multiple windows and to switch the keyboard and mouse dynamically, obtaining immediate control of each source.
